Accommodation
The school can arrange shared accommodation for the duration of the course at the cost of GBP 230 (approximately PLN 1100) per person. The school flats are fully furnished and located close to the centre of Krakow. Each trainee has a single bedroom - the kitchen and bathroom are shared. If you need the school to help you with accommodation, please indicate it in your application. Airport service from Balice Airport is free of charge. The available locations are: Zakątek Str., Szymanowskiego Str., Batorego Str.
Those requesting accommodation provided by the school will be asked to pay a deposit of PLN 300 (approximately GBP 65), which is returned on departure, providing no damage has been done to the property.

• Bus / Tram Tickets
Single tickets can be bought at kiosks. The regular bus/tram fare is a single ticket (2.50 PLN), travelling with luggage costs double. You can also buy an hourly ticket (3.10 PLN). Tickets should be IMMEDIATELY stamped inside the vehicle and retained for inspection.
Monthly ticket for one line costs: 47,00 PLN, for all lines: 94,00 PLN.
On city maps and timetables buses are marked with three-digit numbers, trams with one or two digits. The numbers of night buses begin with “6”.
• 24 hr Post Office Service
You can buy phone cards, call internationally and send telegrammes 24 hours a day at the main post office (ul. Westerplatte 20).
• Phone charges
Calls to the UK cost approximately 1.77 PLN per minute, with the minimum charge three minutes. Calls to Australia, Canada, USA cost approximately 2.44 PLN a minute. International calls cost less if you buy a pre-paid telephone card, for example “Tele-grosik”.
• Money
You can exchange money (foreign and Polish) in private offices (Kantors) and banks. Kantors have the best rates which vary, so you may want to shop around. Travellers’ cheques and credit card withdrawals can only be made in banks. Money can be exchanged in both directions. The current exchange rate is approximately 4.70 PLN to the pound.
• 24 hr shops
There are many late night and all night shops.
• Bars & Eateries
Cracow abounds with restaurants catering to all tastes. Eating out is popular not just with visitors, but with the locals as well. Prices range from reasonable to expensive. Polish cooking, in the olden days on the heavy side, is getting lighter for health reasons. Traditional Polish recipes are full of butter and sour cream as well as meat and mushrooms.
